Hi, what is the advantage of RF vs CO2 laser in skin incisions for labia minora plasty? Thank you.
Radio frequency is much more precise and damages tissue less. Over 100 times more precise. This means that healing is improved and there is less lateral tissue damage. CO2 laser and 980 Diode laser and standard cautery are about the same in lateral thermal heat spread. They work about the same. The most precise CO2 laser device is one with a diamond tip and fiber. Almost as precise as RF.
Hi Dr. Alinsod what do you think about Erb:YAG lasers (Fotona) for labiaplasty incisions? Also, if I cannot find the Elmann device you are using while purchasing an RF device, what features should I ask and what feature do you highly recommend?
I have not used the Erbium Yag for surgical cutting so I don’t have much experience to share with you. The LightScalpel CO2 laser is the best cutting laser for surgery without exception. The best radio frequency device is made by Soniquence, a fantastic company, with a great customer service and fantastic equipment. No. You have to be a subscriber to get the full teaching videos. I provide hundreds of free previews and even full ones on my newsletters.
